A healthy body depends on a healthy spine, a healthy nervous system, and healthy muscles and joints. Many painful conditions are caused by a misalignment of the musculoskeletal system, especially the joints and spine. A misalignment can cause a range of symptoms in your body ranging from an occasional twinge to immobilizing pain.

For more than two decades, we have helped patients overcome pain and discomfort through consistent, gentle adjustments and manipulation of the spine, joints, and muscles. Our board-certified professionals work as a team to diagnose the issue, relieve the symptoms, and develop a treatment plan that aims to solve the underlying problem.

We are also committed to helping educate our patients on beneficial lifestyle choices, diet and exercise conducive to healing and maintenance so you can stay pain-free and enjoy a healthy, active life!

Though chiropractic care is consistently successful in treating musculoskeletal issues, it has also been proven beneficial for other health problems such as GERD, ADHD, asthma, ear infections, hypertension, and fibromyalgia, among others — and for improving overall wellness.

HealthyWays’ Active Therapy department includes Pennsylvania-licensed healthcare professionals with extensive training in anatomy, physiology, and body biomechanics. Our therapists use hands-on techniques with additional treatment approaches chosen for your specific needs. The therapeutic tools we most often use include:

  • Manual (hands-on) Therapy: Consists of techniques that stretch and release muscles and their connective tissues; strengthen weak muscles; increase joint and soft tissue mobility; improve muscle energy and increase range of motion — This type of therapy is especially helpful in easing pain and restoring flexibility in the neck and back.
  • Pain Management Therapy: Includes moist heat, ultrasound, and massage
  • Therapeutic Exercise: Coordinates strength and flexibility exercises in a customized plan that restores strength, range of motion and pain-free movement
  • Postural Corrections: Combines behavior modification, exercises and self-awareness to correct musculoskeletal problems
  • Home Management Program: Outlines a do-it-yourself program of exercises that supports the treatment you receive in our center, and gives you a head start for properly managing your health after therapy
  • Onsite X-ray
  • FMS (Functional Movement Screen)
  • Functional capacity evaluations
  • Physical performance testing
  • Full-scale orthopedic and neurologic examinations

Our personalized fitness plans will meet you wherever you are on the journey — whether you’re a professional athlete or weekend warrior who needs help reaching and maintaining peak performance; or someone who has never exercised who needs to improve overall health, stamina, and muscle strength through a safe and encouraging plan.

If you are recovering from an illness, injury or rehabilitative surgery, we’ll work with you to develop a fitness plan that will support the healing process. Upon recovery, our team will provide additional coaching to help you stay fit and healthy.

Orthotic shoe inserts help to support better foot function and reduce the stress that can cause discomfort and, in some cases, deformity. A foot problem can throw your whole body off balance. When your feet aren’t functioning properly, it affects how you walk and stand. You may develop low back pain, knee pain, stiff hips, sore ankles and spinal problems. We can evaluate your needs and develop a treatment plan that includes orthotic inserts, which will help alleviate or avoid related pain and make standing, walking and running more comfortable by tweaking the way your foot moves.
