Prenatal Care

Pregnancy puts a lot of strain on the body, and low back pain and sciatica are some of the most common complaints. As the belly grows, the natural curve in the lower back increases, which puts extra pressure on the spine and the nerves branching out from it. That pressure can cause pain running down into the hips and legs. Care during pregnancy stays gentle, focused on comfort rather than aggressive correction, since the body is going through so many changes already. Chiropractors use safe adjustment techniques along with soft tissue work to ease tension and relieve pain. Weekly visits are common, especially in the final months, to help keep pain manageable through the rest of the pregnancy. Learn more about Prenatal Care Treatment→

Pediatric Chiropractic Care

Kids and babies come in for reasons that look different from adult complaints, often chronic ear infections, digestive issues, or trouble with certain movements. Treatment for children uses far less force than adult adjustments. Babies are treated with light finger or thumb pressure, focusing on gentle, soft-tissue-based techniques rather than the more forceful adjustments used with grown-ups. Many parents start their kids with chiropractic care early, since the birthing process itself can be a stressful, physical event for a newborn’s body. Regular checkups can help support healthy development throughout childhood. Kids without a specific complaint often come in every few months for a wellness visit, while more focused issues call for weekly care until resolved. Sports & Athletic Chiropractic Care

A lot of the young athletes we see have very tight muscles and reduced flexibility, similar to some of my older patients. That matters for their sports career and their everyday health. Take a hockey player who relies on his lower body. His hamstrings, hip flexors, and IT bands were so tight, while his core and glutes were not being used the way they should. That imbalance can affect leg length and pelvic stability, and it showed up as pain in the low back, knees, and ankles. So even if an athlete only has low back pain, we treat the whole spine. At HealthyWays Integrated Wellness Solutions, we use chiropractic adjustments for the spine and physiotherapy for the muscle imbalance. Treatments start with stretching, then posture correction, and strengthening. We may also add custom orthotics and shock wave therapy as needed. Learn more about Sports & Athletic Treatment→

Spinal Decompression

Spinal decompression is a type of traction, but unlike a steady pull, it uses a computer-guided cycle of pulling and releasing based on your body weight. That varying pressure creates negative pressure inside the disc, which can help pull fluid back into a bulging or herniated disc and support healing over time. It’s most often recommended for disc-related back or neck pain, especially when pain radiates down an arm or leg. Sessions are paired with chiropractic adjustments, muscle stimulation, and active rehab exercises to correct the mechanical issues that contributed to the disc problem in the first place. Programs typically run around 90 days, though many patients notice pain relief well before the disc has fully healed. Learn more about Spinal Decompression Treatment→

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy uses a pressure wave, sometimes described as an amplified sound wave, to trigger a healing response in areas that don’t get much natural blood flow, like tendons and ligaments. It’s especially useful for stubborn issues like plantar fasciitis, Achilles or patellar tendinopathy, golfer’s or tennis elbow, and old joint injuries that haven’t fully healed. The treatment forces blood flow into the area, kicking off the body’s natural repair process. It can also be used more like a soft tissue technique, breaking up muscle adhesions and tight trigger points for faster relief. Depending on the condition, treatment plans usually run between 5 and 12 visits, with chronic tendon issues often needing the longer course. Learn more about Shockwave Therapy Treatment→

Wellness Care

Wellness care is the phase after a patient finishes their initial corrective care plan. Once we reach the goals, the focus shifts to keeping those results. Reaching a goal is not the end. You have to keep working to maintain it. So patients come in on a regular basis to maintain the progress they made. For children with no outstanding issues, that may be a visit every few months. A lot of what we teach in our rehabilitation program, patients can keep doing on their own after their plan is over. We want patients to learn how to take care of themselves, not just come in for adjustments. Routine chiropractic care is part of that ongoing, holistic approach to staying healthy. Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care looks at the body as a system where joints, muscles, and nerves all work together. When a joint isn’t moving the way it should, the muscles around it can become imbalanced, and that combination can interfere with how nerves send signals through the body. Adjustments aim to restore normal movement to those joints, which helps take pressure off irritated nerves and reduces the muscle strain built up around them. Treatment plans are built around a thorough history and exam, including orthopedic and range-of-motion testing, and often X-rays when needed. From there, care is tailored to the specific tissues involved, whether that’s a disc, a joint, or overworked muscles. Learn more about Chiropractic Care Treatment→

TMJ Treatment

TMJ problems affect the jaw joint and can cause pain, clicking, or difficulty opening and closing the mouth comfortably. Since the jaw and neck are closely connected, treatment usually addresses both areas rather than the jaw alone. Care includes manual muscle work around the jaw itself, along with corrective exercises for the neck and upper back muscles that often contribute to jaw tension. Many patients dealing with chronic TMJ issues have already tried other treatments without lasting results, and manual therapy combined with a focus on posture and neck function can bring the kind of relief that a jaw-only approach often misses. Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is how we retrain the muscles to correct the imbalances behind a patient’s pain. A lot of people, when they hurt, want to go straight back to the gym and start strengthening. Getting active is good, but if you want to change the problem, you start with the basics. Our physiotherapists use a three-phase approach. First is basic stretching, which gives the muscles that are working overtime a bit of a break. Second is posture correction, where we also begin strengthening the core in a gentle way. Third is strengthening with weights, to hold on to what we gained in the first two phases. We do this in our rehabilitation facility, with stretching, mobilization, and strengthening as the patient progresses. Learn more about Physiotherapy Treatment→

Cupping Therapy

Dr. Francesca is trained in cupping, and we use it as part of care for the neck and upper back. When someone has neck problems, the muscles in the trap area (trapezius muscle region) and the mid back often become overactive and tight. Cupping helps break that up. Until you take care of that muscle tension, it can be hard to get the neck to where you want it to be. So for patients carrying a lot of tension in the traps and upper back, cupping is one of the tools we use alongside adjustments and other soft tissue work. Learn more about Cupping Therapy Treatment→
